Schedule & Programs
Wee Friends has been a part of the community for over 37 years. Small classes allow for individual attention from our certified and highly experienced staff members. Our curriculum provides hands-on experiences that center on the development of the whole child – socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically. Wee Friends is located in a charming historic building with a spacious and park-like playground. Specialists in the areas of music, library, gymnastics and yoga enhance the daily schedule. The “Wee Friends Feeling” that permeates the air is created by the bond that exists between our staff, our “Wee” friends and their families.
Sessions

Mommy & Me (14 – 20 Months)
One hour program that meets for 15 weeks. Led by one of our very own toddler teachers, this class serves as an introduction to school with a mix of music, stories, projects, and just plain fun! Great socialization for tots as well as their caregivers. Fall, Spring and Summer sessions.
Transition Class (20 – 28 Months)
This program meets for an hour and a half twice a week and serves as a bridge between Mommy & Me and our toddler program. It will be your child’s first separation class filled with songs, stories, projects and hands-on fun learning!
Toddler (2 Year Old Program)
Our toddler program is a half day that meets from 9:00-11:30, 9:30-1:30, or 11:30-2:30. We focus on age appropriate concepts and skills. Through hands on activities and special thematic units, a vast array of learning materials are presented to our two year olds. The rooms are fully stocked with paints, play dough, collage materials, crayons, chalks, books, cd's, etc. Our toddlers go home with a bag full of learning and a strong early foundation. In addition, all our toddler classes participate in music, movement, library, and yoga with our specialists.
​Nursery (3-Year Old Programs)
We offer four different programs for our Nursery “Wee Friends”. We offer a mini day from 9:00-2:30, or full day 9:00-4:00. If you peek into our three-year old rooms, you would see colorful stations designed to provide rich experiences that draw on each child's abilities and interests and simultaneously encourage new learning and curiosity. The hands-on philosophy combined with the integrated curriculum fosters independent thinking while stimulating problem-solving abilities. While all of this is going on, our Wee Friends are learning self-direction, cooperation, and sharing. At age three we strongly encourage logical thinking and using our words to communicate. Through exciting thematic units, our three year olds learn age appropriate skills and concepts. In addition, all of our nursery classes participate in our music, movement, library, gym and yoga programs with our specialists.
Pre-Kindergarten Programs
We offer four different programs for our
Pre-K “Wee Friends”. We have half day from either 9:00-11:30 or 12:00-2:30, mini day from 9:30-1:30, or full day from 9:00-2:30. Our pre-k is renowned for its high standards and innovative hands on very exciting learning. Our curriculum incorporates kindergarten readiness skills in a fun and innovative way! We create an environment that promotes curiosity and adventure. We promote the asking of questions and the solving of problems. Our four-year old curriculum encompasses reading and math readiness, science, social and emotional development, literacy, phonics, and an awareness of the world. The goal of our pre-k is to have our friends ease into kindergarten. Local districts know that Wee Friends graduates come to them so well prepared to move onto elementary school!
